As Kore, the young virginal soul maiden was naive and identified with Her Mother the great Goddess Demeter. One day while meandering in the meadow Kore perceived and reached for a beautiful flower which entranced Her. Almost immediately the bowels of the earth opened up
and the golden chariot of Hades Lord of the Underworld sprang forth with a tumultuous roar. Hades swooped down and grabbed a terrified girl and in a flash returned to the realm of the dead. Later on in our soul story, the now matured Kore known as Persephone (bringer of destruction) married Lord Hades and together, side by side, as equals, They ruled over the realm of the dead.
